Greetings! I'm Mrs. Kristen Wood, the school counselor at Winston Dowdell Academy. My role as counselor is to promote the academic, career and personal/social development of all students. Through individual, small groups, and classroom guidance, my goal is to help students to:

1. Achieve his/her maximum potential
2. Demonstrate academic, career, personal/social problem-solving skills
3. Develop communication, citizenship and employable skills while working with all stakeholders, using data-driven decisions. The goal of the counseling program is to equip students with skills to successfully transition back into the regular school setting to achieve their future dreams.

As we begin this journey together, I look forward to working with students, parents, and staff at Winston Dowdell Academy. With the focus of student success in mind, my motto is “Believe in Yourself”. Remember, no problem is ever too small or of little value. My door is always open.
