The selection of materials for students, teachers, and administrators follow these objectives as stated in Board Policy IFBD:

1. To provide materials that will enrich and support the curriculum, taking into consideration the varied interests, abilities, and maturity levels of the pupils served.
2. To provide books and materials of interest to students to encourage reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
3. To help students develop reading skills, literary taste and discrimination in the choice of materials.

   To provide instruction in the use of educational media and appropriate teaching materials for this purpose.

4. To contribute to the development of social and intellectual values of students.
